Favorite Movies

What makes a good movie? Many things can contribute to making a movie good, like the actors, plot, type of movie, the writing, special effects, its budget and so forth. But it actually depends on the person because one person may think a movie is good, and then the other may think it was a waste of their time. See, I can explain what makes a good movie to me by elaborating off of 5 of my favorite movies. Well first off, a good movie has to be an action, comedy, or horror movie for me. Second, the movie itself has to contain a plot worth watching. To further elaborate on the subject, here are my favorite 5 movies. Which of course is The Matrix, Fight Club, Saw 2, Half Baked, and Snatch.

The Matrix is a movie about a computer hacker Thomas Anderson has lived a relatively ordinary life. But to his intelligence he thinks is in the year 1999, that is until he is contacted by the enigmatic Morpheus who leads him into the real world. In reality, it is 200 years later, and the world has been laid waste and taken over by advanced artificial intelligence machines. The computers have created a false version of 20th-century life, the "Matrix", to keep the human slaves satisfied, while the AI machines draw power from the humans. Anderson, pursued constantly by "Agents" (computers who take on human form and infiltrate the Matrix), is hailed as "The One" who will lead the humans to overthrow the machines and reclaim the Earth. This is a great action movie that has a solid plot, phenomenal special effects that are first and currently only seen in this movie. For instance, when you get a 360-degree view of a character in the air while moving. Then of course on top of that, how they slow down a bullet it air and completely stop it. Its just mind blowing on how far advanced this movie is compared to others, special effects wise. Speaking of mind blowing, another one of my favorite movies is just that.

Imagine this. You're young. You have an easy, well-paid desk job. You have a condo, Swedish furniture, artistic coffee tables and a fridge full of condiments. Yet you feel emotionally and spiritually empty. You eventually find comfort in going to support groups for leukemia and cancer victims when there's nothing wrong with you until another faker hijacks them from you. Then you meet Tyler Durden, a man that shows you that not only can you live without material needs but also that self-destruction, the collapse of society and making dynamite from soap might not be such a bad idea either. Now this would be the product of the movie Fight Club. The writers of this movie are geniuses, because showing you two different people with completely different personalities, then showing you it was only one person all along with I guess a multiple personality is just psychotic! It takes your mind for a ride makes it puke then does it all over again. Which is actually kind of scary, just like Saw 2.

While investigating the bloody aftermath of a grizzly murder, Detective Eric Mason has the feeling that it is the work of Jigsaw, the notorious killer who disappeared leaving a trail of bodies - and parts - behind. And Mason is right. Jigsaw is at work again. But instead of two people locked in a room with only one unthinkable way out, there are eight. Eight strangers, unaware of their connection to each other, forced to play out a game that challenges their wits and puts their lives in jeopardy. They are basically given a choice, life or death. The only thing is choosing life always isn't the easiest to do. Your told you a virus infected in your blood as your being told but there a antidote in a glass bow hanging above you with two holes that you can stick your hands into. But once you stick your hand in the hole the only way you get it back is, well you cannot

because it's cut off. Just so cruel to teach a life lesson, don't you think? It's almost sickening, just like when you laugh so hard it hurts, and that's what another one of my favorite movies does to you through the whole feature.

So it's a movie about potheads, how can it not be funny? A friend out of a group of potheads accidentally kills a cop's diabetic
