Individual Responses

Duty Based (Deontological):

1. We don't always get to work with teammates that are going to be ideally suited for our type of personality or ethical standards. I think Donna is being too demanding in the sense that she wants Michael to work on her terms and conditions. When she talked to him about his duty to the team and how he should behave, she is doing so from her personal standard, not acknowledging that other people may have different ethical standards. On the other hand Michael is slacking and putting things off till the last minute and not really making an effort to work in a team. They need to work out their differences and start working towards the benefit of the team and maybe sacrifice individual expectations.

2. Stephanie should convince the rest of her teammates that things like this happen all the time and that it's probably not the first or the last time that a team member is not going to be there for the final presentation. There is no need to lie or cover up the real motive for her absence. I'm sure the facilitator will understand that personal issues affect people all the time. I don't think she should go along with her teammates.

Goal-based (Teleological):

1. It seems to me that Corin used his teammates to only his objective, a diploma. He does not realize that for the rest of his professional life he is going to need other colleagues to work with for the benefit of teams, departments and organizations. I don't think his attitude is going to have adverse effects on the whole team. They will be able to move along without him. I don't think any one is indispensable in a team.

2. I think Darcie is acting more on duty-based ethic because she is giving up personal goals for the benefit of the team. She committed to work with the team and feels she has an obligation to finish what she started.

Rights-based:

1. Jerry and Samantha's arguments fit into rights-based ethics standards because they don't feel that this local group reflects the views of the majority of the community. They are advocating equality and that all people should have the right to decide for themselves what is appropriate for them
