I have recently had the pleasure of seeing the new hit movie Elf, written by David Berenbaum, and directed by actor/director Jon Favreau.

This has to have been one of my all-time favorite comedies. When I heard about the movie, and who starred in it, I begged my mom to go see it with me the first day it came out. She said that if we could get tickets, we could. When we got to the theater, we had already purchased tickets online. I insisted that we go directly into the theater, so we could get "prime" seats.

Throughout the movie, some of the strong points that I noticed about the movie were as follows. One, the introduction to how Will Ferrel ended up at the North Pole and how he interacted with Santa and the elves. Two, that Will Ferrel's complete obliviousness to the surroundings made the movie a complete delight. Thirdly, the Christmas decorations in the stores he went into were magnificent

Elf starred Will Ferrel and James Caan. There is no one who could possibly play this part as well as Will Ferrel did. Will got his start on Saturday Night Live, where he did remarkably well, and then left about a year ago, wanting to aspire to an acting

career.

Elf is about a guy named Buddy(Will Ferrel) living in the North Pole, who thinks he's an elf. He is raised by the sleigh-maker who he calls Papa Elf, who is played by Bob Newhart. Eventually, Santa(Edward Asner) tells Buddy that he's not an elf. Buddy then sets off to find his family in New York City where his father(James Caan) lives and works. What Buddy doesn't know is that life isn't all like life in the North

Pole, but keeping the right attitude might help.

Overall, this movie is fantastic, and on a scale of 1-10, I would give it a

10/10.
