A DREAM

Have you ever dreamed about making it big. Well Andrew has he's dreamed of becoming a musical success, taking it one step at a time. Andrew caught his first big break in elementary school as a fifth grader. He made the cut staring in his school's christmas play which included a solo performance. After this day andrew never turned back looking forward to becoming great. He soon joined the church choir, and shortly after entering junior high started playing the trombone. Within the year of hard work and dedication andrew managed to compete in the solo/ensemble category and received a division one rating the highest level awarded. When asked how it felt to place that high andrew's rebuddle was simple "really great". Andrew was also asked how did this affect your life, saying " Music turned into my life, it was all year round and it wasn't work it was enjoyment". "I play for the love of music and that's its". Andrew sooned took his talents into high school were unfortunately for him he had stiff competition. A boy by the name of matt james the number one trombone player in the school which means andrew had his work cut out for him. The bad thing was that matt was a sophmore and a cocky one at that says andrew. Three years go by and finally matt is out of school graduated leaving andrew the soon to be senior in the spotlight. Andrew told me how brutal it was waiting, and waiting for his time to come to play on that stage, however while andrew was waiting he put his time to good use taking private singing lessons and joining the school choir. With summer coming to an end andrew started to embark on his musical conquest with the goal of going to "ALL-STATE" the biggest musical competiton there is. This competition offers solo singing and group choirs as well as solo ensemble and band performances. Andrew told me " I am was very excited with all the oppurunties outhere to compete and maybe earn a scholarship. " the year flew by and all I could do was play music" no matter what kind andrew stood happy and made it to ALL-STATE competing in the solo singing performance and also as part of the group band andrew placed well but not welll enough to win a medal and set out this year his freshman year of college to make it back to ALL-STATE and get what he felt he should of acoomplished last year.
