Introduction

The Coca-Cola Company is one the most rated in the United States of America. The Company is the leading a manufacturer of non-alcoholic drinks including the syrup and the Coca-Cola drinks. Besides it being in the United States of America, the Coca-Cola Company is worldwide. Therefore, it has its roots in most of the countries in the world thus making it establish. Progressively, the Company is extending to some of the regions it never existed before.

The factor of it sprouting almost everywhere then makes it be worldwide.

Founded in the year 1886, the Company now celebrates 130 years of work. Initially, it served better in the rest of the world except in the countries of Cuba and North Korea. Later it had its ways in America.  The firm was started by Asa Griggs, who was then supported by Muhtar Kent; both as the key people (Pendergrast, 2013). Moreover, the firm has had a significant impact on the people where it is situated. In America, its headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia.

Coca-Cola has grown more and becomes famous through its flagship of Coca-Cola. The flagship was invented in 1886 by Pemberton. He was a great pharmacist. Besides the flagship of Coke, the firm produces a syrup concentrate that is sold to several bottlers around the world. The regions to where the sugar is sold hold a contiguous territory. It is this syrup that helps to make the Coca-Cola products that many people enjoy as refreshments. Therefore, the syrup is a global Coke brand. In the USA, Coke has its anchor in North America well known as the Coca-Cola Refreshments.

Through its journey, the Company has entailed different acquisitions. Just to mention a few, Coke acquired Minute Maid in the year 1960 and the Indian brand in 1993. Other additions include the Barks and the Odwalla brand of fruit juices. However, with those similar acquisitions, in 2009, the Company intended for a bid to buy a juice maker. Unfortunately, the request was aborted on the grounds of it being a virtual monopoly. Another factor for the bid’s rejection was nationalism. Despite that hit, however, the Coca-Cola managed to buy Columbia Pictures.

The Coca-Cola’s first brand was Tab. This brand is used to make a diet of a soft drink. For it to function, it uses Saccharin as a sugar substitute. The product was introduced back in 1963 and is still in the market today. Although its market flop lowered since the introduction of the Coke diet, the product still is rare to be found. The reason is that of primary the facto of Coca-Cola replacement. Also, Coca- Cola’s brands Fanta and Sprite. Fanta was originally orange in color but today it exists in flavors of grape, peach, grapefruit, apple, pineapple and strawberry.

The daily running of the Coca-Cola cannot be consistent without ethical perspectives. The firm in America is doing all the right by avoiding many hindrances. Among the Company’s moral views include the anti-bribery ethic and the anti-corruption ethic. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the firm to ensure that all goes well by avoidance of the two vices. The Company Council selects these challenges that the Company faces and decides to deal with them accordingly. Consequently, the progress of the firm is expected.

Apart from the within ethical perspectives, the Coke Company in the USA continues to get criticism from various groups. The critics have a concern for a variety of issues including the health hazards, environmental effects, and the business practices. These critics have particularly come from the consumer groups and watchdogs. With the alarm of those forces in America then, other parts of the World have also raised concern on similar matters. Especially in the US, the central ethical issues are as highlighted below:

According to the Main Article: United States v. Forty Barrels $ Twenty Kegs of Coca-Cola, there was a push by the government to the Coke Company to remove caffeine from the Coca-Cola’s products. The caffeine in the Coke is one dangerous product to the human health. Moreover, some of the glass canning bottles are a great risk to consumers when handling. In 1944 for instance, a woman waitress was injured by broken glass, and she claimed that the Coke Company was liable.

Another criticism of Coke is the pesticide contamination. According to the Centre for Science and Environment, one the private organization in New Delhi said that the aerated waters that the soft drinks released contain toxins including Lindane, DDT, Malathion and Chlorpyrifos pesticides which are very dangerous to the human health. In New Jersey also, the Coke products were identified to be so hazardous that people's health was at threat (Devlin and Bassiouny). These products can result in cancer and lower the immune system.

Coke is also a hindrance to the to the water sources where the Coca-Cola plant is situated. Besides the pollution, it is evident that the plants derive more water sources, especially from the residents. Consequently, there rises the water shortage required for domestic use. As a result, the people around the plants suffer the inadequacy of the most important component at the expense of the Coke firm. Several incidences reported in the American States have therefore contributed to the fight against Coca-Cola.
