The Chicago Chamber Choir

The Chicago chamber choir has a lot to offer in today's society when it comes to good choral music. Many choir's today have something lacking in them: lack of participants, maybe the lack comes in the certain sections. However, the Chicago Chamber Choir almost seems as the ideal choir with many talents and choices of music it can select from. I personally enjoyed listening to the choir. I came from a very small town in central Illinois, from Cullom. My high school consisted of one hundred and fifty students, so you can imagine the size of choir I am used to. Also, only starting in my junior year I had a lot of improvements to do. I feel this choir has encouraged me to improve on what I have already accomplished.

I had the opportunity to watch the Chicago Chamber Choir perform El Corazon: Song of Latin America. This also had an influence as I haven't really indulged on such music from other countries. Music I have performed consisted of pieces dating way back, and even some recent, but none from other countries. I understand different choirs do different arrangements of the music performed. Yet, the arrangements performed by the Chamber Choir seemed to have been the right one, the members of this choir seemed to have embraced it well and made a really good, and full sound.

So in short, I really enjoyed this music experience, and hopefully can apply it to my future choral opportunities. Timm has done really well with the CCC, as well as Regent Singers. I hope to hear from both groups in the near future.
