Acupuncture has become part of medical world. Some people find it amazing how acupuncture can be so effective and some find its effectiveness questionable. Whether one believes in its effectiveness or not acupuncture is now an alternative healthcare treatment.

Acupuncture is a form of medical treatment that originated in China over 2,000 years ago. The principles of acupuncture are based on the belief that there are patterns of energy flow called Qi and that these patterns of energy flow through the body along with a balance of yin and yang are essential for a person's overall health. Acupuncture is used to clear or correct any imbalance within this energy flow. Acupuncture utilizes solid metal needles as a tool for correcting Qi imbalances. This form of medical treatment was scarce in America until 1972 when President Nixon visited China. From that time on it has become popular to apply acupuncture to western medicine.
