In the article A Suicidal at Twelve: “Why Steve?” by Richard E. Meyer states a suicidal story of a young boy named, Steven Dailey. He tell his story from the moment he was born, and up to the very last day of his life. Steve who lived almost thirteen years old was put though a lot of pressure. It’s very difficult, parents don’t see the damage of putting pressure on their children. Richard said, “he walked down his favorite trails in the woods behind his house, climbed a tree, knotted a rope, and hanged himself.

To start of, Steve was born on 30th day of July in 1961, Cincinnati suburb of Clifton. He grew up in a white middle-class American. He loved playing soccer but he played football and baseball because of his father. Steve have two brothers and sister that really loved him. His relationship with his father (Charles Dailey) was unfortunate. Charles was controlling, and determined to make Steve professional football player. Steve’s father later became football coach in St. Catherine’s school. Charles wanted Steve to be the best.

In addition, Steve was a stamp collector, and he had also caught a fish, when he was seven years old. Also, Steve’s grades was descent. After he received the first communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation, and knew how to serve in the mass, he became an alter boy. And at age eight, he became part of the club scouts.

More so, Steve was told by his father to play football. But he decided to play ‘bandits,’ and this made his father unhappy. But after a year, he finally played “pony” football. Also, he was more into soccer, and according to coach, George Kuggler, “he was aggressive on the soccer team.” He was really good at it.

According to Richard, “on the fourth day of the eleventh month of his twelfth year, a sunny afternoon in suburban Cincinnati, he walked down his favorite trail in the woods behind his house, climbed a tree, knotted a rope, and hanged himself.
