Born in Malaga, Spain in 1881 Pablo Picasso became one of the greatest and most influential artists in the 20Th century, and he is still today. Him and his artwork are still remembered and shown around the world. His father gave up painting and gave Picasso all his brushes once he discovered Picasso's Talent. In 1954 he the David portraits where created and Picasso was 74 years old at the time. Sometimes he would use color, and other times she would simply be drawn. In some portraits she looks realistic and in others she is made from geometric forms and abstract. He would sometimes go towards cubism or he would use flatness. She would draw while Picasso would create her portrait and she later became an artist herself. Picasso was affirming life while exploring his appreciation for beauty. (Auster)

Later on the David portraits were published and became so famous, that it even influenced female fashion. Many young ladies, including famous women starting wearing a high ponytail, making the style very popular.
