Pablo Picasso

Weird, talented, and a past artist, if I was asked about Pablo Picasso, I would think these words. Pablo Picasso was born on October 25th, 1881, in MÐ"ÐŽlaga, Spain. Picasso’s birth name was Pablo Diego JosÐ"© Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno MarÐ"a de los Remedios Cipriano de la SantÐ"sima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruiz y Picasso, his name honored Saints and Ruiz y Picasso was added to honor his parents. His parents were Don JosÐ"© Ruiz y Blasco and MarÐ"a Picasso y LÐ"Ñ-pez.

Some important contributions and accomplishments that Pablo Picasso made were the contribution of the art of cubism and his artistic legacy. When Pablo Picasso was an artist, he went through quite a few phases. There was the blue phase, the rose phase, African-influenced Period, cubism, Classicism, and surrealism. Of all these phases, cubism was the most important because it was not around until Picasso and Georges Braque developed this type of art in 1909. The art was made by cutting paper (wallpaper or portions of newspaper pages) into designs; this was the first use of the collage technique in fine art. After Picasso died, he still had some of his paintings and other artists painting in his possession. These paintings were put in a special museum in France in order to honor him.

Pablo Picasso holds a place in history because he was a fantastic artist. Many people study his art today to become better artists. If there was no Picasso, then there would be no cubism and that would change art, as we know it.

Some interesting facts about Pablo Picasso: At age 8, he completed his first oil painting. Also, he cut off his ear and gave it to a prostitute that he was in love with. Lastly, some of the most expensive paintings ever sold were by Pablo Picasso.

In conclusion, Pablo Picasso was a strange and magnificent artist. Sadly, he died on April 8, 1973.
