In any superficial society, there are always the exceptions, individuals who manage not to give in to the pressures put on them to conform. In this case, these individuals are called Christians. According to the Bible, Christians are supposed to be the "salt of the earth" and a light unto others to show them the best possible way to live their life. Christians are put in the spotlight whenever there is the temptation for them to sin. Temptation seems to come from everywhere today, especially forms of entertainment. Movies and TV shows are saturated in violence, harsh language, sex, and drugs while popular music deals with some of the same topics. These examples of a culture whose main focus is sin leads people to think that this kind of behavior is the norm and therefore acceptable.

One would think this is where the Christian would step in and preach to good news to all of humanity thus saving the planet from eternal damnation. Unfortunately, while this is a great concept, most of the Christian community today has fallen short of the standards set for them by God in the Bible. Going to church every Sunday morning , attending the occasional Wednesday bible study, following most of the ten commandments, and remembering to talk to God whenever you happen to stumble upon some free time just doesn't quite cut it. Being able to call yourself a Christian requires a bit more than hiding behind a facade of false piety when it is convenient; Christian is a way of life that needs to go beyond the Sunday morning service or when you think someone is watching. A religion that claims to be founded on morality whose members are only recognizable one hour out of the week is not very appealing. If hypocrisy is what a non-believer sees when considering Christianity then that person does not receive Gods message in its entirety and Christians, as His disciples, are not doing what they were made to do. The worlds view of the people who call themselves Christians is somewhat warped because most of the time these people appear no different than the members of any other religion.
