Rice from farm to plate

The paddy which is grown in the fields is wet due to its irrigation method and so the farmers after growing the paddy, brings it to a market place where it gets auctioned. Here the paddy is then bought by the highest bidder for paddy and hence is then taken to the rice mill.

Once it comes in the mill first of all the paddy is kept for drying in the sunlight by spreading it on a floor made by a compost of dung and sand. The floor is made by mixing the cow-dung and sand and then by sprinkling water over it, it is then further kept for drying for 2-3 days. After the floor gets dry, it becomes hard as a normal floor and then the paddy is sprinkled on it, so that it loses all the moisture inside it.

The paddy consists of all the waste materials like the leaves of the crop, sand , the shell in which the rice particle is covered, etc. The paddy needs to be dried before processing it further because if it is kept inside the machinery in wet condition, then it would break while getting processed in the machine as it is brittle in nature. After the paddy is collected ,it is fed in a tank through a grill where it gets stored.

The above shown grill, filters the bigger particles of waste materials before it gets stored in the tank.

After this the paddy goes into the Paddy pre cleaner where all the impurities, large stones, dust sand, straws etc. It also separates the immature paddy at some extent. Here all the paddy gets filtered and the considerable amount of waste is removed and hence the remaining fresh paddy is forwarded for further process and the left over waste is used for burning purpose.

Then the filtered paddy is fed into the vibro destoner.

The vibro destoner mainly with the help of vibrations separates the heavy and light weight particles from the paddy and hence due to the vibrations the particles get segregated according to the weight and the waste from it and the actual paddy which can be utilized is distributed accordingly. The waste comes from the irrigation and made of the organic crops and so it is used for feeding to the cattle and in the poultry farm for chickens. The filtered paddy from it is then passed to another machine known as a rubber roller.

Here in the rubber roller the paddy is passed through the machine where two rollers in the box rotate in opposite direction and when the paddy is passed through it the shell gets removed and the rice particle come out of it and hence in this manner the rice comes out of it. The rice particle is then passed further and the leftover grains are sent back to the destoner for getting it checked again for the rice particles and segregation. The waste obtained from it is then disposed off.

After this the rice particles obtained is sent to the separator where the rice particles and further dust and other brans are removed from it to get pure rice particles without any impurities.
