Gospel Essentials

“You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in Heaven” (Matthew 5:43-45). Would one consider this statement as an element of the Christian Worldview ways? On the other hand, what is the Christian worldview and what does it consist of for it to become part of the Christian worldview ways? The purpose behind this essay is to summarize and analyze the essential elements of the Christian worldview and to reflect elements on implications for my own worldview. Along the words of God, Humanity, Jesus, and Restoration, it is to further illustrate an understanding of what the Christian worldview actually means, as if you were looking at it through a pair of lenses.

The Christian Worldview

God

Firstly, not every human being on this planet probably believes in God, but I am sure everyone has had that question flow through their heading asking themselves who is God? God appears to be three distinct persons in one living personal spirit. He claims himself to be the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirt. Although he is trinity, God’s character is faultless. He is immutable, which means unable to be changed. God is observed immutable because by nature he is unchanging, “I am the Lord, I change not” (Malachi 3:6). In addition, he is viewed as sovereign because his sovereignty is how God rules his own creation. Having sovereignty, he’s able to know what is the best for us. There are numerous characteristics that define God, but with all these characteristics, they help him identify to be the creator of all things. For example, “And God said, ‘let there be light,’ and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). God was able to separate the light from darkness. He called the light day and the darkness night.  With understanding who God is, what his characteristics are and what his creators were made of, helped us better understand who God as a person.

Humanity

Secondly, human nature is what makes all of us humans, human. In other words, human nature is a way in which the human mind works in relationship to certain things of God. At the end of the day we all can call Christ as human beings, so what better wat than to understand the purpose for being a human. The only way someone will ever understand their purpose in life will be to take journeys. To learn as you go and by gaining greater understandings as a human and life in general. Purpose is not a justification, but a justification by faith; “something more is needed than just being a ‘good’ person” (Koontz M. 2017).  Being a good person comes a long way. God had a purpose for creating all of us. Jesus once said, “you shall love your neighbors as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). God created us here for the purpose of loving him and each other. On the other hand, all humans have problems. All problems are like trees. When someone walks by a tree they only see the fruit on the tree, the leaves, the trunk and the birds in the tree, but lack the appearance of the trees roots because they are blinded by what is deeper inside. On a tree if you see bad fruit, it is always important to remember that the real issue is the root of the tree, not the fruit. A tree is known by its fruit, “either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known for its fruit” (Matthew 12:33). The trees roots are a comparison to us humans in a way. If someone has an issue its something deeper inside them, which makes it the trees roots. Humanity is something that defines us to be who we are, lets us explore and learn greater things in life, and to fully understand our purpose in life.
