Executive Summary

This report is display about recommendation on Product of Porsche. This report expounds two marking mixes: Porsche and Ferrari, and use SWOT analysis for Porsche. Use 4Ps to analysis Porsche. Also compare and contrast Porsche and Ferrari. Comprehensive to analysis the reasons for the Porsche how to be famous. Prove that Porsche have a larger market than Ferrari. All information finally gets a verdict that Porsche is more profitable than Ferrari.

  1. Introduction

In modern society, people’s quality of life has been greatly improved. More and more people want to have their own car. However, different people have different financial resources; lots of people do not have ability to buy the high-end cars. However, the high-end cars of a German car manufacturing enterprise can give a relatively low price to the public, and the name is Porsche. The products of Porsche are include 718, Boxster, 911, 918 Spyder, Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne. SWOT has four stages: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, which scan both the internal and external environment of the coming product and 4Ps.

  1. Methods

Two businessmen were going to be interviewed and suggestions will be obtained on the marketing mix of Porsche and Ferrari in this report. The businessmen interviewed are doing car trading and they are experienced in how to face the change in world market and how to make profit-maximizing plans. Most new market and competitive edge of the product was obtained by websites. Research objectives of this report are analysis the reason why Porsche is successful. Porsche is a car manufacturing enterprise.

  1. Findings

Other popular car brand such as Ferrari is the key competitor of Porsche's. As long as the opponent's marketing mix is concerned, SWOT of the chosen product also needs analyzing for further decision making. The table below indicates the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the Porsche.

  1. Most of middle-class accepts the prices.
  2. Powerful R & D capabilities and creativity for Porsche.

  2. Diversification, many kinds of car.

Weaknesses

  1. Traditional model of high fuel consumption has not large improved.

Threats

  1. US increase average fuel economy standards (CAFE).
  2. Many car manufacturers to seize the Chinese market.
  3. Increased government review of foreign companies.

In the table, we can see the prices of Porsche products is accept by most of middle-class, it make the Porsche products are sold more than the Ferrari. Because Ferrari only produce the high-end sports car, Ferrari cannot sell a sports car that the price as low as the Porsche. Porsche has a long history so the ability of product research and development innovation is strong and product quality forefront automotive industry, because it improve over a long time. The diversification of Porsche products brings success to Porsche; But Porsche was not given up some traditional things. For example, the traditional model of high fuel consumption, has not improved. Highly indebted financial structure. The opportunities of Porsche are much for Porsche. Volkswagen takeover Porsche, means Porsche get a new change. Also the shapes of Porsche products are not out style, it is fashion trend. And Chinese markets are very important to Porsche; the products of Porsche in China are very populist sex. In parts of threats, government more and more intervene automotive industry in these years. Also many car manufacturers which are competitor of Porsche seize the Chinese market. These things hinder the Porsche to develop. According to the judgment, Porsche has great ability that the advantages and opportunities can get rid of weaknesses and threats.
