New Type of Cookie

It is not every day that we set out to do something new or different. Many times we have the mentalities that if it is not broken then why fix it However that is not always the case. I love to bake and I love cookies so so do my children, why not mix some of their favorite flavors into a cookie?

Research

When it comes to making a decision on what to change and how it should be changed is always good to do a little bit of research first. With that in mind you want to have a good solid research questions. Writing Research Questions", 2009 states that the research question is the fundamental core of the research project. What it does is focus on the study, it helps to determine the procedure and also guides the researcher though the different stages of inquiry, analysis and lastly reporting. In order for any research to beginning we first must identify the “problem”. For our company, our problem would be which flavor people would most likely want to try and buy. The research question would then be what flavor our company should make into a cookie. To make sure that we are doing this the correct way, we must have a proposed research. This is just a document showing that there is a plan of action or intent on how the research will be done. You want to make sure that people know that you are serious about wanting to try something different, to see what others really like and also that you do have a plan.

Design and Collection

There are different ways that the research project can be set up. A statistical sample would work. To be exact a simple random sampling would be the best. A simple random sampling is when each option has an equal chance of being picked (Groebner, David F., Shannon, P. W., Fry, P. C. 2016). This is  I think that because what we are trying to do that conducting a survey would make the most sense. Asking customers or potential customers a variety of different questions about their favorite flavor and what flavor they would most likey buy if they could, would be perfect. Collecting data about customers likes and dislikes in cookies and favors would be beneficial in pushing us in the direction of a new cookie. Also collecting data about ages, reasons for buying and how often people buy cookies would help. Anyone can take a survey; however we want to be sure that we are not creating a cookie because some children think it would be great to make a sour warhead cookie. Sounds delicious but how many people would actually buy them? Probably not many at all would like them. After the survey is complete, compiling all the data to find out what people think and which one or ones would be the best option. It will take some time because the survey will not just be multiple choice but also some open ended questions. That way we are truly getting the answers that we want and will help us in deciding on the new cookie.
