01. What problems you identify with Kamal’s job?

Kamal is a well-experienced employee in that company from 20 years and he is quite senior now.

A job can be defined as a grouping of similar positions having common tasks, duties and responsibilities. Major issue of this case is Kamal feels stress and boring in his work. It is most critical problem in employee’s working life. As same as over specialization affect, fatigue and monotonous work schedules are irritating to him. Because, he engages with same work during 20 years.

According to the case study, he is quite senior now. Increasing responsibility is a one of the problem may be happen in Kamal’s job. Taking on extra duties in Kamal’s job is because to his stressful work. He can be more stressed if he has too much work to do and he has no free in his working life.

Uncertainty about work rules is another problem in Kamal’s job. Being unsure about his duties, how hi job might be changing, goals of his department or company can lead to stress .If he report to more than one immediate boss, it also may a problem to his working activities.

Poor communication system also may a problem with Kamal’s job. Tension on the job often comes from poor communication. Being unable to talk his needs, concerns and frustrations can create problems in Kamal’s job and his stress.

Lack of support is another such problem I have identified in this case study. Lack of support from his boss or co-workers make it harder to solve other problems at work that are causing to develop stress of Kamal.

As same as Kamal is a well-experienced employee with 20 years’ experience. However, company may not provide any career growth facility regarding Kamal. Sometimes his working condition may be poor. Unpleasant or dangerous physical conditions may be happening in Kamal’s job.

These are the various problems I identified with Kamal’s job.

02. How it (above 1) affects Kamal’s job satisfaction and his decision?

According to the Kamal’s thinking and his behavior, I think he is dissatisfied employee regarding his work. Many issues can be cause to develop dissatisfaction.

According to Fredrick Herzberg’s two-factor theory, he presents the top six factors causing dissatisfaction and the top six factors that cause to satisfaction. In that, Herzberg defined salary as a factor to lead the dissatisfaction. However, in Kamal’s scenario Kamal has not any problem regarding his salary. He satisfied about his salary.

Increasing responsibility causes to lead satisfaction according to Herzberg. Nevertheless, in Kamal’s view he is a negative thinker. He likes to think independently. I think he owns selfish characteristics. He does not like to get more responsibilities. Therefore, he is going towards the dissatisfaction.

Poor working condition, Poor communication and lack of support are cause to develop dissatisfaction of Kamal’s job. Arisen due to above reasons I think Kamal is a dissatisfied employee.

When we talk about his decision, I think Kamal’s opinion is right. Because working a long time at one company is not good in HRM. In addition, he is dissatisfied and he cannot do his best to the company’s success. He should resign, but before taking that action, he should find a suitable job match with his interest, capabilities and competencies.

03. What is the impact of Kamal’s thinking and behavior on his family and children?

According to the case study Kamal is a person who engaging with a stressful job. He is the senior person in his family. He has children. Father’s behavior is directly affect to the happy and success of the family. Kamal has some unique characteristics. He do not thinks deeply about the family situations. He is quite selfish character. He always tries to evade the problems. He does not like to face problems directly.

As an example, in this case Kamal tries to call the boss and tell he was sick. He likes to adapt lies for face the problems.

Kamal is a negative thinker, he do not looks at future wisely. He is suffering from job stress and it gives direct negative impact for the Kamal’s family and children. He is not like to spend time with his children. He does not like to share his experience with his family. That is why his wife said that, have breakfast with children before he leave for the work. But Kamal annoyed with that saying. It means his job dissatisfaction is irritating to his mind and it negatively affect to the happy of the Kamal’s family.

If Kamal decided to resign from job, it causes to loss their family income still Kamal go for a new job. If he cannot find a suitable job, he has to face several economic problems in his life.

In my conclusion Kamal’s behavior is may negatively affect to his family also.

04. What is the impact of Kamal’s thinking and behavior on the productivity of the company he serve?

We know that employee behavior has a direct effect on organizational productivity. In this scenario, Kamal is a one of the employee who is suffering from job stress. Kamal’s behavior is influence on company’s growth indirectly.

High absenteeism rate can be seen in the Kamal’s behavior. If he going to absent in a high rate, it is directly affect to the company productivity. At present, Kamal is not give the contribution as company wish. When, Kamal absent to the work, Kamal’s duties and responsibilities are missed by him. It is a reason to fail the plans of management and cannot reach organizational goals.

As an example if organization is a production company, Kamal’s absenteeism is highly effect on production process. Management has to hire another employee on temporary basis for engage in Kamal’s work when Kamal is absent. Therefore, management has to train that temporary employee by spending additional
