I saw how the movie, Happy Flight, portrayed Supply Chain Management when the cabin messed up making the cake and they had no dessert. Reiko decided to make Saito cook a dessert using leftover snacks, nuts, and fruits. In a way Reiko managed so use her remaining supply to make another final product which is the cake made out of the leftover supply of snacks.

Inventory Management was also portrayed in the cabin when they were serving lunch. The passengers had a choice between beef and fish. Beef was being chosen more and thus the cabin was running low on beef. Reiko then showed Saito how to balance demand for both beef and fish by promoting fish way better than how they promote beef. This led to passengers choosing fish more and thus they had a more balanced inventory and did not run out beef faster. Inventory management was also evident when the check-in staff had problems with overbooking. They upgraded a few passengers to better seats and they managed to fill-up the seats and solve the overbooking problem.

I saw how Aggregate Planning was portrayed in the movie with the airline’s short range plans. This dealt with which stewardesses would be on flight 1980, who the pilots would be, who the maintenance crew would be, and who would be in the control towers before, during, and after that flight. You can also see it in the situation where they were running out of beef. Reiko used a demand lever, promotion, to be specific to create a new demand for the fish. They also used overtime where the ground crew had to extend their shift to prepare rest areas for the passengers in flight 1980 to increase capacity when the flight had to turn back.

The control tower group should have had a model of the airport in their office ready because the power outage took away most of their computers. They had to get the one inside the check-in area and that wasted time for them in planning a safe landing route for the flight. The check-in group should be stricter with the baggage because it would provide problems inside the plane just like when the one guy who got upgraded had a bag that was too large for the compartments. That led to the pilot getting injured and he had to let the less experienced pilot do most of the work. The ground crew in charge of the maintenance of the plane should have seen the problems regarding the part to be replaced before that plane was about to depart.
