Article of the Week 3

In the article “US Officially Accuses Russia of Hacking DNC and Interfering with Election” by Spencer Ackerman and Sam Thielman, it talks about the importance on why the accusations and assumptions of russian hackers cracking into our database.

Us as citizens of the united states shouldn’t be so worried about this as individuals but in my personal opinion, I don’t think it’s that much of a big deal. I think we should start to worry once things get more serious than leaking information. In the article it says that “over the summer that sophisticated Russian hackers were responsible for hacking the servers of the Democratic National Committee”, meaning that there are uninvited people from other countries stealing info from our databases. There has been a huge debate over the fact that Hillary has leaked the information rather than the Russians hacking our databases. There could be possible war if this continues to happen. We are being accused for hacking into their system as well, starting from the article, “Every day Putin’s website gets attacked by several tens of thousands of hackers. A lot of these attacks are traced to the territory of the USA, but we do not blame the White House or Langley each time”. I believe that they're not lying about anything here. We have big hacker groups here in the US called anonymous and such. They’re known for hacking into bigger businesses like SONY or Twitter. They have the capability to do something like that. I think that the allegations the white house has been receiving are false. The russians just want to use it against us for actually getting into ours.

What’s really happening in this situation is that Russia could be getting into our system and changing some things, such as the election (which is what we’re worried about). Russia wants Trump to win the election due to the accusations going on Russia from hillary, and also they believe that Trump would be a good pick. As far as from us, I don’t think that we are hacking the Russians in any type of way.
